It was a rainy morning, but that didn’t stop the New River Aviation team from launching their boutique, private jet company out of Edgewater Florida last October 25. Joined by Edgewater City Officials including Mayor Mike Ignasiac, Megan O’Keefe, Amy Vogt and Christine Power, owner Michael Newberry and CEO Chad Newberry along with co-partner Jose Leyva. Hometown News covered the events on the front page of the paper.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the Massey Airport Hanger followed by a reception and maiden voyage of the Cessna Citation fleet. The family-owned business includes a fractional ownership model and a hyper-local focus, making the company well positioned to service corporate and leisure travelers of Central Florida. While New River’s current fleet has the potential to travel the entirety of the East Coast down to the islands, there are future plans to expand the fleet to include cross-continental flights and long hauls into Europe in the next few years.
A water salute for the planes was placed on hold for a later date, due to rain, but the maiden voyage flew guests to an afterparty in Palm Coast.
As CEO for New River Aviation, Chad’s vision is to build the private jet company into one that services clients with world-class service and that same family mindset. The company caters to clientele who are interested in the convenience of private aviation and the service that goes along with it, without the hassles of jet ownership.
“What sets New River apart as a company is treating each customer with the same care as family,” said Chad. “This is a family business, and the values shine through in every element of our airline’s service. New River’s values are safety, service and convenience. The team has more than 75 combined years of distinguished experience in the industry and each member is here to make the flying experience one that is full of ease, great service, and getting guests where they want to go.”
